I mentioned the mercury glass candlesticks in another post. Here is another one I picked up at Goodwill for $1, I thought it was so snazzy looking. I made the little frame next to it that says "powder room". I bought the frame at Dollar Tree and printed off"Powder Room" in a fancy script on parchment looking paper. I think it is a cute change. The sink was hand painted but not by me. I found a girl from California on Ebay while we were building and commissioned her to do it. Even paying shipping, we were only out $150! I asked that she do a blue willow design since I collect it and love it. She had no idea what I was talking about... is blue willow a Southern thing? I wouldn't think so.Sunday, January 28, 2007

Teacup display

I have a small business and have for several years now. It started out with my daughter and I having a booth in an antique mall, now 7 years later it is quite different. The main inventory in my booth space now is tea, vintage teacups/teapots and tea accessories. This picture is a new display piece I just bought to hold miniature teacup/teapot ornaments. I thought it looked so cute when I finished and it came with the "wintery" looking felt covers for the rounds. I will remove those when spring comes but for now I think it looks very season appropriate. Just thought I'd share...

Studio??
I am so excited we are just beginning to look at finishing our bonus room upstairs for me a STUDIO!!! Oh my gosh! I would be in hog heaven to have my own space for painting , crafting, scrapbooking, junking! Wow, I could have some fun up there. Had the builder that built our home 3 yrs ago to come by tonite, give us some ideas, talked alitlle money, etc. I have been collecting some "storage jars" etc at Goodwill recently in the hope of using them up there. I'm fired up , can ya tell?
Blue and white fan?

I am a huge blue and white fan! Always have been! Love old blue and white , new blue and white or any combination of blue and white!! I have it everywhere in my home. I hang it in the dining room , as you see, it's in the kitchen( duh) , bedroom, even the powder room( weird, huh?). In fact, I love the look of transferware in any color. Of course in blue, but red looks wonderful, black is to die for and on occasion I even like the look of mulberry! I probably need therapy for this! I am a china girl, let's face it!

Winter tablescape

I love to decorate and re-decorate our home. I am constantly changing tablescapes etc. I like the way this "winter" tabletop on my dining room table turned out. I found 3 of those mercury glass candlesticks at Goodwill recently, paid just a song for them! Got the others at a Pottery Barn outlet before Christmas.
