Well, we finished painting the studio "Key Lime", I'm telling you , it is so cute!Pictures later! Can't wait to work in there. The electrician comes this morning to put in my ceiling fan and overhead lights etc. then we'll lay the peel and stick tiles! I have a new side venture starting up, my friend Karen is opening a new garden shop, she is a wonderful gardener, herbalist, and an ICU nurse to boot! Amazing woman!, Anyway, behind this new garden shop, we hope to have a joint"Fancy Flea" market Saturday, just one weekend this summer.
We haven't worked out the particulars yet but it should be fun. She has a new blog to go with her website, check it out...

A decision has been made

I finally decided on a color for the studio walls, guess what? LIME!!! "Key lime" by Benjamin Moore to be exact. I have toyed with the color for awhile and this week, we helped our DD and her DH paint some rooms of their new home. Their guest room is going to be 'key lime" and after seeing it on her walls, I decided it was just what I wanted. So... we primed everything in the studio today, ceiling to floor. Tomorrow DH is going to paint the ceiling white while I paint the trim on the window and doors, then Monday we'll paint the walls LIME! I can't wait...should be fun!!

a whole new look
Recently, I gave my bath and body booth a "whole new look".I repainted the back wall, got in a new line and then rearranged, thinking more along the lines of spa & calming. For the past year or so, the back wall in the space had been lime green , all the inventory baskets, lime, purple and blue, very colorful and fun. It was time for a change it had been that way a year or so... and for those of you in business, the ultimate slam...
sales had fallen off!
I spent Monday giving it an overhaul...
what do you think?

Violets galore

DH and I took a long road trip in January all the way to Key West, FL( 2300 miles RT), we travelled mostly 2 lane roads. We took 2 weeks to do this trip, stopping along the way wherever and whenever, we had a great time! The reason we started talking about doing this trip was for me to hit Renniger's Flea Market Extravaganza in Mt. Dora Florida, right above Orlando. This extravaganza happens twice a year evidently, some 1200 vendors. We had such fun and I bought lots , but on the way there, we stopped at a roadside flea, where I bought all these violet dishes for $20! A box lot full, but they were so nasty. I washed them in my kitchen sink, only time I've ever had a "bathtub ring" in my kitchen sink! But boy, they gleam now, huh? This is the display I just did with them at the shop, I hope they sell quickly.

Studio update

My studio is finally about finished. It is now time for DH and I to do our "magic". It is ready to be primed and painted, the electrician to come back and install the lights and ceiling fan( you know in case I have my own private summer! lol) and us to put down black and white peel and stick tiles! I can not wait, I have crafts, treasures, sewing etc. all over the house now. I will love having it all in one place for once in my life! My sweet DD gave me a few things for the studio for my birthday recently. I'm still toying with the wall color. I was thinking about lime green but since she gave me this darling lime green bulletin board, I'm thinking maybe yellow or pink! What are your thoughts on this?

Birthdays
Recently my best friend had a birthday and I had the opportunity to give her a real birthday luncheon. Do you ever do
something that maybe takes time and effort but it is just a pleasure to do it?
That's the way this luncheon for 7 ladies that I did last week. It took a little
time and effort but this friend is such a sweetheart , I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Her dear Mother passed away several years ago but she has her collection
of hats from the 40's and 50's! Probably 50 hats! I had her choose 7 of her
favorites and bring to me. I tied one of the back of each chair and we
donned them for lunch. We looked like real ladies! We had the best time,
having a leisurely lunch and just enjoying each other company.

good food...good friends...good times

Good food... good friends... good times. That says it all ,doesn't it? It does for our house anyway. We recently put that above our kitchen table with the phrase made by www.wallwords.com . I love the way it turned out and so easy to apply. I bet it didn't take an hour start to finish to apply . I highly recommend it.Very similar to window clings if you know what those are, it won't harm the paint etc. I want to order one more for the laundry room that says" laundry room... drop your pants here!". hehe
