C is for..........

At my house, "C" stands for lots of things! For example, C stands for Carol, my first name!

It could also stand for cherries as I have some resin ones saved on my bulletin board in my studio/workroom upstairs.Or cards, they are also there!Lots of "C's".

"C" also stands for cloth at my house, I am a fabricaholic! I know it, but can't help it! I love some fabric!! This stash( on the left) has been developing for years, my daughter and I used it when we had our shop, for displays.( This isn't all of it!)Now, I use it for decorating, booth displays, just all sorts of things.

I also sew, not clothes, mind you, just simple window treatments, bed skirts, pillows, etc. So I am always using fabrics.

I love chalkboards, "C" is for this chalkboard upstairs in the studio. The old $3 desk I use there, used to be a roll top I'm sure in a former life but when I bought it the "roll" was gone and the inside section of the desk was in rough shape, so I painted it with chalkboard paint and keep inspiring thoughts there!

"C" is for chair, I love this chair and footstool I fixed for the studio. I can do some serious "creating" in this chair! Both these pieces started out other colors, the chair was a 7.99 natural rattan chair from Goodwill and the stool was a ugly green stool from the flea market, but a coat of paint, some fabric and you've got yourself a cute creative corner! hey, all "C's'!!

Holiday Home Tour

We finally put the finishing touches on our home for Christmas 2007. Here's a look as you drive up our drive.I love the simple look of our home with it's white siding and red door!

Step inside the front door, we have a tall barrel ceiling in the foyer ,so last year we "invested" in a 10 foot artifical tree.... love it!

To the right of our foyer is our formal dining room. The tabletop has my collection of old/new mercury glass candlesticks gathered inside and old wood frame I painted silver.I dressed up our black wrought iron chandelier with silver snowflakes , bells and crystal look garland.

This white ceramic nativity is my most treasured decoration, made for me by my Mother in the mid 1970's, since she is no longer with us, I treasure it more every year.
I finally finished the DR sideboard, I like it better now.

I don't decorate every nook and cranny in our home but here are some shots from the kitchen.

Random shots in the house....

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Decorating

Whew, I love to decorate for Christmas but it can be a real job! I love to create new vignettes each year . Do you do this or do you put your decorations in the same spot each year? I don't want mine to look the same each year and it takes me a long time to arrange things.I spent about 7 hours straight last nite just on the dining room and den! Crazy ,I am! I have a friend that makes pictures of her arrangements once she likes them and then does the same thing each year! Not me, baby, I like to do it differently and work myself silly!!lol I rearranged this sideboard 10 times, I bet! I changed the candle, then the candleholder, then the present, then put a mirror behind the wreath! On and on! Still not completely satisfied! I'm going to participate in an online virtual holiday home tour next Wed. the 19th. I will have my home all decorated and online pics done. Come back to see me!
